Title: Too Damn Pretty to Die

Spoilers/Warnings: Through “The Substitute”.
Summary: He’s going to live to eat another taco.
A/N: Written for lost_in_108 challenge #21 “choices”. Title stolen from the Cap’n himself (or you know, Joss Whedon.)

 

Had Miles known he was choosing between destiny and walking two blocks back for another fish taco when he was tossed in the back of that van, he still would have chosen the taco.

Still, there’s a pang when he sees Straume scratched off the wall. Not because he has any interest in throwing his hat in the ring to be the island’s next great defender, but because he can’t help but notice that all of the other ex-candidates are super dead.

He’s survived death inducing time travel, three years in the seventies and a hydrogen bomb explosion---Jacob can suck it.

Fuck destiny, he’s not dying here.
