ozmissage: (Greatest Hits)

1. My apologies for the mass amounts of fic this week, guys. The luau is keeping me busy. Up next Sayid het and hopefully some Desmond fic. Wish me plot bunnies.

2. This week's [community profile] fannish5question: What are the five most heartbreaking things that have ever happened in your fandom? I stuck with Lost this week, so spoilers obviously, not that I think there's anyone on my flist who could be spoiled by Lost yammering. Also, choosing just five was ridiculously hard. I could have chosen twenty from season five alone. Stupid, sad show.

1. Juliet Burke gets sucked down that damn well. (I know a shocking choice for number one, right?) No other moment on Lost or any other show for that matter has broken me so thoroughly. Fix it show. Please.

2. Greatest Hits. All of it. I’m sorry, but don’t ask me to pick one moment because it‘s just not possible.

3. Sun thinks Jin blew up on the freighter. The minute Yunjin Kim starts wailing, I start whimpering.

4. Daniel sits in front of the piano desperately trying to play the song he used to know so well as a child. This scene even more than his death exemplified just how thoroughly Dan’s life was not his own.

5. Sayid watches as Nadia is hit by a frakking car. Because clearly he hasn’t been through enough soul sucking misery in his lifetime.

3. Today is quality time with the family day, so I'll be AWOL until tomorrow some time. Have a great Friday, guys! :)

Guh, why Juliet, why?! But do not apologize for all the fic :) It just took me a while to catch up but I loved it!

Though I'd go with:

1. Sun thinks Jin blew up on the freighter
2. All of Greatest Hits
3. Sawyer's jumped from the helicopter, gets to land, and sees the pillar of smoke
4. Juliet goes down the well
5. Charlotte tells Dan he told her not to come back as a child and then just DIES o_o

Have a great weekend!

Charlotte's death was heartbreaking. I wish Darlton had kept her around because she was awesome. :(

Don't apologize for the fic! I've still got to catch up with everyone's work, but I love seeing fandom this productive! :D

God, even reading this list is making me sniffly. Stupid, sad show indeed. I would add Boone's death and Kate saying goodbye to Aaron, though. And Charlie's near-death from Season 1, which had me bawling. Okay, actually, I think that my list would never end. ;)

Heh. I keep thinging of more things I would add. There is no shortage of sad moments in Lost, that's for sure.

If I had a number six it would be Kate saying goodbye to Aaron. God, when she said, "Bye, bye baby" I couldn't stop crying. Is it wrong that I want Kate to find a zombie-Claire next season and realize she's the only mother Aaron's has?

These are all S5, because if I included the other four I might be here all day, lol.

1. Dan's face when he sees kid!Charlotte on the swingset in 'The Variable'. I love the whole scene (though I get why some people were weirded out) but that one expression alone says a million things; it's like, Emmy reel material, in my humble opinion.
2. "Will it make you proud of me?" Again, it's such a short moment, but his voice breaking and Fionnula Flanagan's reaction shot just kills me. Damn you Jeremy Davies and FF for being so freaking fantastic at what you do.
3. Miles watching his father read to his baby self in 'Some Like It Hoth'.
4. Charlotte's death.
5. Kate saying goodbye to Aaron. (Which, I know, because usually I'm really not a big Evangeline Lilly fan, but I thought she was great there.)

Oh! And a 6. When they leave Sayid at the Dharma van after he's been shot, in the finale, and you just get this sense of, "Well, I'm totally effed." And that pretty much sums up Sayid's deal for me. ;_;

There's that well thing, too ...

I agree with all of those. Davies is so insanely good, he can (and has) broken my heart without saying a word.

I almost stuck with season five myself. They seemed to add an extra dollop of angst and misery last season.

Sayid het? Yay!

Yunjin Kim wailing sends shivers down my spine and tears to my eyes no matter how many times I watch it (and I've watched it a LOT). I'm getting a chill just thinking about it. And yeah, Juliet falling down the hole... most emotionally painful thing I've ever watched.

But yeah, I'd also have to second Charlie's near death in season one. I thought he was a goner, and Kate's sobbing was really affecting and the way it tied into Jack's flashbacks and issues--that was a ridiculously powerful scene. I also cried like complete baby during Locke's suicide/murder scene. I feel like regardless of whether or not one likes Locke, Terry O'Quinn is obscenely good.

Sayid het should be posted this weekend. I hope you like it, I tried to pick just one pairing, but I was so excited about writing Sayid/Girl that I went a little crazy. ;)

I go back and forth on whether or not I like Locke, but I always enjoy watching O'Quinn play him. I loved "The Life and Death of Jeremy Bentham" and that scene in particular was brilliant. Just beautifully played and written.

I'd agree with all of those, but I'd also include Boone's and Charlotte's deaths, and definitely when Alex died. I think that's the most sympathetic I've ever felt towards Ben.

Oh God, Ben's face when he says, "He changed the rules" kills me every time.

God those are all heartbreaking moments, though I think there are about fifty more I could add to them as well - Lost really is ridiculously sad. Charlie's almost death, Charlotte's death, the 'Will it make you proud of me?' moment, Boone's death... I could go on. And don't even get me started on the well scene - it was just the fact that it was just that she was in the wrong spot at the wrong moment, and then Sawyer's reaction when she let go... oh dear. *goes off to cry*

I have a hard time thinking about that stupid well without sniffling. I hope next week's fannish five is less depressing. :(

I think I seriously need to joing this fannish5 community. Cause I love making lists. And I started to make one here but you and everyone else have made it for me. :P Besides, narrowing it down to five is hard. We could go on for days. Why is LOST so sad? :(

Juliet going down the well is definitely #1 for me, though. I'm still picking up the pieces of my poor broken heart. Just thinking about that scene makes me want to cry.

You should join! The only thing I like more than making lists is reading them. ;)

I don't think I'm ever going to get over what happened to Juliet. I love that woman too much to accept that that's how she ends.

Those are all very tragic moments. Juliet's accident is so horrible. #5 is so true! Poor Sayid. Here are mine.

1. Charlie's last moments in the Looking Glass.
2. Charlie and Hurley's good-bye hug in Greatest Hits.
3. Daniel talking to little Charlotte on the swings.
4. The silent montage of Shannon finding Boone.
5. Vincent swimming out to the raft in Exodus.

I could goon and make this a top 10. Lost is so heartbreaking!

That hug always gets me, but it's also maybe my favorite scene in the entire history of the show. Juliet/Sawyer may be my OTP, but my favorite relationship on Lost was and always will be the friendship between Charlie and Hurley.

I miss Charlie so much. :(
