I’ve been trying very hard to stay away from LJ until I finish my stupid fic, I even resisted posting about what was IMO the best Lost episode since “The Constant”. Yes, I think it was maybe even better than “La Fleur” which you all know I love more than air, but it was Des. And it was epic. And I’ve already watched it twice. I have theories! But that’s for later. I also have top 5 lists, but that’s also for later cause I want to scrounge up videos/pics to illustrate my answers.

Right now I have an interactive shipping meme which sounds like a fun way to distract myself during writing breaks. (Also? I think I just broke up with Flashforward. Did you guys see that insanity? WTH was that?)

Arg. LJ was being a pain Saturday and I had to fight with it to let me edit the post, after that I clearly forgot why I was editing in the first place. I fixed it! :)

I was never a big Buffy/Angel shipper and I like Cordy/Xander but only in high school. I just loved the BFF dynamic Cordy and Angel had, they were so sweet and comfy together. I'm a big friends shipper too, I think pretty much all of my favorite ships were friends first.

I hate it when LJ does that to me, especially when I'm trying to post fic. Yeesh, I think there's one fic post I still have to fix because of that.

I was never into Buffy/Angel either. They just became so...ridiculously corny together. Like, most of the time, I just...hated their dialogue/love talk/whatever, it was like a really poor man's Shakespeare or something. I don't even want to watch it again to properly criticize it. They just like really forced, which sucks, since I think they did have the small chance of developing naturally. Like, I remember in the series premiere, I really liked how Angel and Buffy were snarky with each other--and that was like, just dropped for little reason.

But for some reason, I heart the arc where Buffy's heartbroken over Angelus/Evil!Angel. I mean, it doesn't make sense me liking that part, 'cause you'd think that would lose some impact if you never liked Buffy/Angel...but wow, I really cared at that point.

But still after that point, I never bought Buffy/Angel happening; all the debate about possession/split personality aside, there just seems to be too much bad blood between Buffy and Angel for anything to ever work out.

But I did love Cordy/Xander! They were so great, and it had the added bonus of really developing Cordy's character. But I think you're right, only in high school, 'cause there's Cordy/Angel later and Xander/Anya I still wish they had gotten married. That would've been interesting. But I guess it all works out since I'm seriously thinking about the crossover ship Richard/Anya

Exactly. I mean we saw them build a friendship over the course of the first half of season five (and in some ways as far back as the season three finale) and while the actual coupling occurs in just one ep, I've always maintained that you can feel those three years even if we didn't see them. I think that's due to the easy chemistry Holloway and Mitchell have. Guh. I just love those two so much.

Me too! But I think that's due to Joss's gorgeous writing. That's some hardcore epic television ship or no ship.

Let's definitely be friends! I don't want to miss your Richard/Anya fic. :D

I mean we saw them build a friendship over the course of the first half of season five (and in some ways as far back as the season three finale) and while the actual coupling occurs in just one ep, I've always maintained that you can feel those three years even if we didn't see them. I think that's due to the easy chemistry Holloway and Mitchell have.

THIS. We didn't see those three years, but I could believe their growing friendship turned into something more over that time. And yes, really, since like season 3 (yeah, the finale specifically, but even when they start out as enemies) they've had development.

Yes, that was definitely due to Joss' amazing writing, and the acting--OMG, Sarah Michelle Gellar is such a big reason for why I love Buffy the Character.

Just friended you. :) Oh man, I have no idea when I'll get to Richard/Anya fic, but maybe just a short interaction drabble sometime soon. Maybe something to do with bunnies.~ We know Anya is awesomely afraid of them, and my fanon is that while Ben probably hearts bunnies, to Richard they're just food. XD I dunno, more of my fanon is that bunnies are native to the Island--never mind that Dharma probably introduced them, I just like this idea better, 'cause then I make it so that way early on, rabbit was just one of the easiest things to hunt when Richard was younger, and he frankly acquired a taste for it.

Then more serious plotbunny with the idea of trying to Wishverse-Twist Lostverse to make Anya's introduction similar to Buffyverse, and Wish!Richard's the one to strike her amulet and trap her as human, replacing Giles' role there--and that just led to me thinking Richard/Anya reminds me of Giles/Anya in fandom. Except Richard has the bonus chance of possibly having more common ground with Anya since he's lived way longer (but I like that canon-wise, she would still be older). And that just made me wonder about any other similarities between Giles and Richard...I believe I'll have to think on that more.

And I like the subtle image in my head of Richard being even more polite than Xander when Anya asks him questions about modern humanity (since she has been out of the loop with them in that regard, at least on really intimate cultural details). And I think possibly Anya might cheer him up a little--at least when she starts talking light of Jacob and Esau/Smokey, she's met them before in kinda "casual supernatural" settings long ago, and mentions that Halfrek totally is completely infatuated with the both of them and her ex-Vengeance Demon boss always joked about Esau's imprisonment status.
