Happy birthday [livejournal.com profile] nitrogenpink! I hope you had a lovely day. :)

And a meme stolen from [livejournal.com profile] mollivanders:

Ask me one fandom-related question in the comments. This can be fandom specific, general, or about fandom/lj stuff/fic writing/etc. in general. Just one question, please, but it can (and perhaps should) have sub-parts. Question can be as wacky as you want. Ask me about tv shows, characters, fanfic in general, fandom issues/meta, anything about any of my stories specifically. Whatever you want.

If you could have started writing Gilmore Girls around S4 or S5 what would you have done with the show?

Hmmm…there’s nothing in season four that I would change. It’s quite possibly my favorite season, I liked Digger, I liked Rory’s arc, and I absolutely loved the part where Luke and Lorelei finally come together. I think in terms of season five I would have preferred for Lorelei to be more forthcoming with Luke about Christopher. And the episode where Rory ends up curled on the bathroom floor crying her heart out about Logan would have been rock bottom for her. In my perfect world she would have left him in that episode and there never would have been any boat-stealing or dropping out of school.

It’s season six that I really want to change though. April would never have existed, and I would have found more organic conflicts between Luke and Lorelei to explore. I’ve never bought into the idea that a happy couple has to be an uninteresting one and I would have much preferred to see them deal with normal obstacles like Lorelei taking the job that put her on the road. In that way we get to see Luke’s insecurities about not being “good” enough for Lorelei and Lorelei dealing with the idea that her life may not be so different from her parent’s after all. I think it would have allowed for some serious character growth from Lorelei and her friends/family as they had to deal with things without her help.

As for Rory, I would have liked to see her explore a bit more. I liked seeing her branch out and make new friends in season seven, but by then she had lost so much of what made her Rory it didn’t really resonate. I also think it would have been nice to see her step up when Christopher and Gigi needed help. I always wanted to see her get to know her father and her father’s family (horrible as they were). As for her love life, I would have liked to see her give Marty a shot (pre-stalker Marty that is), but ultimately I would have reconnected her with the more grown-up Jess we met in season six.

Sorry, I just wrote you a novel length comment. Oh and one more thing: Lane would never have had twins. Or any babies for that matter. ;)

Except for the twins(which I liked, mainly cause the names were awesome)I would totally prefer the show that you would have written. Especially no April. And I liked Marty a lot before he became a stalker.

Oh, and I like long comments! You never have to apologize for being wordy with me!

What's your favorite "happily ever after" scenario for Juliet?

The bomb creates an alternate timeline where she chooses not to go to the island, but still retains all of her memories from the original timeline. In this new timeline she’s happy with Rachel and Julian (I’m going to hand wave the need for Jacob to save Rachel. Let’s just assume Ben was lying and she goes into remission on her own), she’s employed and spends most of her days telling women they’re going to have perfectly, healthy babies. In short she has good life, but one in which she’s still living with the memories of the old one.

We see all of this in the finale, and maybe despite the whole being happy thing we can see she’s still a little sad. She’s at home and then the doorbell rings. She gets up, answers it and we see her smile. It’s James, a little bruised and beat up and fresh off a rescue boat from the island of doom.

“What took you so long?” she asks.

He grins, kisses her and we fade to black.

So in conclusion, my favorite happily ever after for her is the one where she gets her family, her memories, and ultimately her guy. That’s just how I roll. ;)

Awwwwwww! I want this so badly.

Also, because today is a day of not being original at all, what would you like to see for Miles in S6 and beyond?

Oh, Miles. First and foremost I hope he makes it out of season six alive. But aside from that, I want to see him find out how he got his powers and why. I’m really hoping the writers are going to tie his story in with the mythology of the show. In my head his powers are courtesy of Jacob and were given to him so that he could play a part in the coming war. If that’s the case I want to see him struggle with that. I actually want to see him flirt with the idea of switching teams and possibly allying himself with Esau for awhile.

I feel like he’s got a lot anger still pent up inside of him, despite the resolution of his daddy issues and I think most of that stems from his “gift”. If it was Jacob that gave him his ability then I really want to see a confrontation between them…or possibly between Miles and Richard if Jacob is out of the picture for good.

Another part of my personal canon is that he can see smokey which would make him like a human lie detector, which I think would be pretty useful in wake of the Locke/Esau fiasco. Ultimately though, whether he lives or dies, I really want him to have a big hero moment of some sort.

Post season six, I wouldn’t mind “I’ll Be Bogie, You Be Raines” becoming canonical. ;) Seriously, in my head if he survives he’s totally opening a paranormal detective agency with Hurley.
