Title: Everything Can Be Undone
Rating: PG
Spoilers/Warnings: Through “The Incident”.
Summary: Daniel had a plan.
A/N: Written for[info]lost_in_108 prompt #9 “simple”.

It’s simple.

You’ll find a point…a weak spot, a place with a tear and you’ll rip it apart.

The timeline can be exploited, it can be undone (it shouldn’t be of course...there will be consequences, but you can live with that if it brings her back.)

You won’t set off the bomb. It was never going to be you. That’s not the plan.

You’ll die…bullet in your back, your mother kneeling beside you. This moment is fixed.

But you already know that (scribbled in the margins, a date and a time.)

It won’t matter. You’re just the catalyst.

Whatever happened, happened.

That’s not going to be true anymore.

Oh, really liked this. I love how powerful it is in such a small amount of words. :D

Ooh, shivers :) Daniel consciously sacrificing himself is so much better than his mother just mindlessly murdering him.

Even though I <3 angst :p

Beautiful :)

Thank you! I've always thought Dan was moving like a man with a plan. I hate the thought that he walked into that blindly. :(

This is so marvellous; the sparse language, Daniel's determination. And somehow, the second person is exactly the right choice for this.

Would you mind if I were to friend you? My lj is a little Supernatural heavy, perhaps - but there's always Daniel! Sawyer/Juliet! And other things. :)

Thank you so much! I was worried about using the second person, but it just felt right this time.

Please do! I just started watching SPN, so it'll be fun to have another person to squee with when I get caught up. :D

(That icon is stunning, btw.)

Oh wow, your writing blows me away. I am usually not the biggest fan of the second person but it works incredibly well here. Amazing work!

Thank you so much!

I'm not usually a fan of the second person either, but for some reason this drabble demanded to be written that way. :)

Excellent! And once again the journal becomes a messsage in a bottle on the currents of time...

Thank you so much!

I'm absolutely obsessed with Dan's journal. I would love to have a peak inside that thing...although I'm sure I wouldn't understand a word of it. ;)

I don't even know where to start with this -- INCREDIBLE, just ... breathtaking.

I love the chances you take here, especially with using the second-person perspective. It all just works fabulously, and it's absolutely heartbreaking -- the Charlotte mention, the recognition of his fate and his acceptance of it, the final line -- I just adore it, and I wish I had more words to tell you how much.

It means so much to me that you liked this! Your the Queen of Dan as far as I'm concerned and I'm always nervous about writing him. :D
