Summary: After.
A/N: Written for the final lost_in_108 challenge, #101 “Flight.” It had to be these boys. It only made sense.

They bum around America like a pair of vagabonds, after. Miles drives, but Richard navigates, worn map spread across his knees.

The freedom of it makes him dizzy, sometimes.

They stop in Memphis, Dallas; they stop in Miami to deliver a message, an I’m sorry, six years and a lifetime too late.

They see everything and nothing, and Richard loves every minute of it.

They stop in LA and Miles kisses him fearlessly, carelessly in a smoky bar. Richard kisses him back without hesitation.

“Promise me we’ll never stop,” Richard murmurs in Miles’s ear.

“Got to come up for air sometime,” Miles jokes.

Richard smiles softly.

“Not us.”

Alkjaldjfjk, OH MY GOD, this makes me insanely happy. How you manage to give me so many feelings in just 108 words is ridiculous. That whole ending -- "promise me we'll never stop" -- YES OMG. EVERYTHING. This is all I want for these boys and it's perfect. *draws hearts*

Aww, thank you! I miss these boys! I didn't realize how much until I started writing this. I think a longer fic is going to be in order soon-ish. :D

Ahhh, PERFECTION. I love the image of these two boys road tripping, it's my happy place. I like all the little snapshots of the places they visit, Miami makes me sad. :((
