LJ goes down for a week and I lose the ability to make real posts. So much typing. This is what tumblr does to people. Eh. Let's do a meme.

Date: 7/31/11 02:41 pm (UTC)The first character I fell in love with: Claudia. The first time I ever watched the show she was ziplining across the warehouse and I was like, "yep, got to find out who this girl is."
The character I never expected to love as much as I do now: HG Wells? She stole my heart last season.
The character everyone else loves that I don't: Hmm...I don't know. I honestly can't think of character that I openly dislike on this show. They're all too cuddly...even the morally ambiguous ones.
The character I love that everyone else hates: I don't think fandom hates her, but the writers never give me enough Leena, so I'm going with her. ;)
The character I used to love but don't any longer: Claudia's cute glasses-wearing boyfriend from last season.
The character I would shag anytime: Jinks...although in light of recent revelations, I don't think he'd be terribly interested.
The character I'd want to be like: Myka! She's amazing with her book love and dorkiness and badassery.
The character I'd slap: Um...Mrs. Frederick on the grounds that she's willfully vague all the time and it drives me nuts. Of course, if I slapped her, she'd probably disappear me.
My five favorite characters: Myka, Claudia, Leena, Pete, and Artie.
My five least favorite characters: Err...
My deep dark fandom secret: I wish they'd bit the bullet and made Myka/HG canon last season. By the end, their UST wasn't even subtext anymore, it was just text.
no subject
Date: 8/1/11 01:44 am (UTC)But I know enough to agree on this: MYKA/HG WELLS. Gah. Also, HG Wells in general. She was probably the character that made me do a double take and actually pay attention.
Well, that and then there was the one episode I saw that had Mark Sheppard in it and my brain nearly exploded. Also: Claudia. SHE IS SO AWESOME. This show has some seriously awesome females. \o/

Date: 7/31/11 02:54 pm (UTC)The character I never expected to love as much as I do now: Chuck. I was a little luke-warm on her in the early days, but by the end she'd completely won me over.
The character everyone else loves that I don't: Randy? I don't know how fandom felt about him, but I wasn't a fan.
The character I love that everyone else hates: I think PD was too much of a love fest to really have hated characters.
The character I used to love but don't any longer: ?
The character I would shag anytime: Ned! Ned with his tall, gangly awkwardness and adorable face. Be still, my heart.
The character I'd want to be like: Chuck's pretty darn awesome and if I was like her, I'd have her wardrobe, right?
The character I'd slap: Dwight Dixon. Grrr.
My five favorite characters: Olive, Ned, Emerson, Chuck, and The Narrator
My five least favorite characters: Dixon, Pee-Wee Herman, Randy...I'm out.
My deep dark fandom secret: I secretly hoped that if the show kept going, Ned/Olive would become endgame.

Date: 7/31/11 07:11 pm (UTC)The character I never expected to love as much as I do now: Nathan. I mean, I knew I'd love him, he's totally my type, but I didn't realize I'd fall this hard.
The character everyone else loves that I don't: That lady from last season who was the Doctor's daughter. I honestly can't even remember her name right now.
The character I love that everyone else hates: I saw some Evi hate the other day, so I'm going to go with her because I'm already madly in love with her.
The character I used to love but don't any longer: I have yet to fall out of love with anyone on this show.
The character I would shag anytime: Duke (his tattoos, OMG). Thought I was going to say Nathan, didn't you? ;)
The character I'd want to be like: Audrey. Either version. She's tough, smart, caring and just generally an amazing, put together person.
The character I'd slap: The reporters. Do your jobs, dudes.
My five favorite characters: Nathan, Audrey, Duke, Evi, and the doctor (oh, how I miss her).
My five least favorite characters: The Rev, The Chief, the doctor's daughter...er, that's about it.
My deep dark fandom secret: To me, this show is perfect. Cheesy moments and all. Every week I watch and just enjoy it without reservations. It hits all of my narrative sweet spots. I don't want to get involved in shipper debates, I don't want the stories to get denser or fluffier, I want it to stay exactly as it is. Forever.

Date: 7/31/11 08:20 pm (UTC)Duke and his tatoos! Yeah you would. I didn't think Nathan, actually, so props to me.
I saw some Evi hate the other day, so I'm going to go with her because I'm already madly in love with her.
Me too. And it saddens me. Already, fandom? We've barely met her.

Date: 7/31/11 07:21 pm (UTC)The character I never expected to love as much as I do now: It's weird, but I loved all of them pretty much the moment I started watching the show and my love just seems to grow by the episode.
The character everyone else loves that I don't: Jean-Ralphio? He's fine in small doses, but I wouldn't want to see too much of him. Also, Louis C.K.'s character from s2.
The character I love that everyone else hates: Mark and Chris. I love them both, even if Lowe is kind of douche-y.
The character I used to love but don't any longer: N/A
The character I would shag anytime: Ben Wyatt. Oh, the things I'd like to do to that boy...and yes, I did just tilt my head like I was Zach Braff having a dream sequence.
The character I'd want to be like: Leslie
The character I'd slap: Aww, I can't slap any of those faces.
My five favorite characters: Ben, Leslie, April, Ron, and Ann
My five least favorite characters: I'm going to pass on this. Everyone's delightful.
My deep dark fandom secret: I multi-ship Leslie with Ben, Mark, and Ron. But that's not really a secret.

Date: 7/31/11 07:38 pm (UTC)The first character I fell in love with: Alaric. When he showed up, I started really caring about the show/other characters. He gave me something to latch onto.
The character I never expected to love as much as I do now: Stefan. Remember when I thought he was dull? Crazy, I was. Also, Elena who I was wildly indifferent about in s1, but now adore. And Tyler, who it took me a whole season to differentiate from Matt.
The character everyone else loves that I don't: Does everyone love Matt? I think I could love Matt if he interacted with the other characters instead of hanging out in his own super depressing/realistic teen drama.
The character I love that everyone else hates: Bonnie! John!
The character I used to love but don't any longer: Damon's definitely been downgraded from 'love' to 'like with extreme reservations'.
The character I would shag anytime: Alaric. (Even after I was flipping through the channels the other day and came across a movie Matt Davis did where he ended up as a talking zombie head in the end. Still wouldn't think twice.)
The character I'd want to be like: Caroline? She's handled the whole becoming a vampire thing much better than I would have.
The character I'd slap: Damon. Also, my sweetie Alaric for letting Damon get away with using Andie all season. I still don't understand what the writers were thinking.
My five favorite characters: Alaric, Caroline, Stefan, Bonnie, and Jenna. And Tyler. And Katherine. And s2!Jeremy. And John...okay, stopping now.
My five least favorite characters: Vicki, Matt, Vicki and Matt's mom, Anna, and Klaus.
My deep dark fandom secret: My original favorite character was the first, super angry history teacher. He cracked me up.
no subject
Date: 7/31/11 07:48 pm (UTC)Ew, zombie Alaric. I have to say, after following Matthew Davis on twitter, Alaric kind of creeps me out now. I know, I know! Separate real life from fiction. I would but it's hard! Especially when he was playing Klaus.
See I forgot that so many people disliked Vicki and Anna. I liked them both! I'm weird that way.
Did you know that in a deleted scene from season 1, Matt's mom is actually a succubus? TRUE STORY. I choose to believe that is actually canon even though they cut the scene. It would definitely explain Tyler macking on her at that party.
Yes, I remember you thinking Stefan was dull. What was your problem, huh?
ALSO? Talking about shagging Holder just makes me want more The Killing fic from you. Haha. *daydreams*
no subject
Date: 7/31/11 08:02 pm (UTC)She was supposed to be a succubus? That would have been kind of awesome. Honestly, I think my biggest issue with that character was that she was played by Melinda Clarke and I never, ever like her for some reason.
What was your problem, huh?
Temporary insanity? Too many memories of that season Paul Wesley played Amy's druggie boyfriend on Everwood? ;)
Heh. In a matter of days I received two comments on that fic over on AO3 and one person asked me to write more The Killing fic without sex this time (well, she asked that it be rated "e" which I'm assuming isn't a plea for eggplants) and one asked for more explicit sex. Moral of the story: people leave weird comments on AO3.

Date: 7/31/11 08:16 pm (UTC)She was! It was so random but could have been awesome. But then they remembered the actress was over 30 and dropped the storyline? (Haha.)
I never did watch Everwood. Now I'm tempted.
And I fear I may have already said to much regarding Matt Davis. Creeper doesn't really begin to cover it. If you wish to remain pure, stay FAR FAR AWAY. FARRRRRR.

Date: 7/31/11 07:53 pm (UTC)The character I never expected to love as much as I do now: Al. I honestly thought I'd always loathe him when I started watching the show, but by the end I had grown to care about him quite a bit.
The character everyone else loves that I don't: Alma, maybe? I liked Alma, but she was never my favorite.
The character I love that everyone else hates: Oh man, I don't want to admit this, but it's totally Wolcott. He was a horrible, scary man with some serious issues, but I was completely fascinated by him. I blame Dillahunt and his general awesomeness as an actor.
The character I used to love but don't any longer: I think I liked Alma more in the beginning than I did in the end.
The character I would shag anytime: Seth. Also, Adams.
The character I'd want to be like: Mr. Ellsworth. He was just a genuinely amazing human being, I think.
The character I'd slap: Cy. Ugh, I hated that guy. And Hearst.
My five favorite characters: Trixie, Sol, Seth, Mr. Ellsworth, and Merrick. (But also Joanie, Adams, Blasinov, Charlie, and Wild Bill Hickock.)
My five least favorite characters: Cy, Hearst...those are the only two I remember vehemently disliking right off hand.
My deep dark fandom secret: As much as I would have liked the show to keep going, I kind of like the uncertainty of the ending we got. It felt true to the nature of the show and the town...but I totally wanted to see more of those theater people.

Date: 7/31/11 08:12 pm (UTC)The character I never expected to love as much as I do now: Miles and Richard.
The character everyone else loves that I don't: Jacob.
The character I love that everyone else hates: Esau? Kate. Charlotte. Ana Lucia.
The character I used to love but don't any longer: Locke. After he punched Charlie and "sacrificed" Boone to the island, we were done professionally.
The character I would shag anytime: Sayid.
The character I'd want to be like: My girl, Juliet.
The character I'd slap: Everyone who went along with Jacob's nonsense without asking questions at the end of s6.
My five favorite characters: Oh man, just five? Juliet, Charlie, Miles, Desmond, Richard, Sayid, and Hurley. And Jack. I can't make choices.
My five least favorite characters: Widmore, Jacob, Wayne, Libby, and Locke's Dad whose name has just fallen out of my head for some reason.
My deep dark fandom secret: Honestly, I think all of my secrets for this fandom are out in the open at this point. I used to ship Hurley/Shannon? That's a thing people might not know. ;)

Date: 7/31/11 08:24 pm (UTC)The first character I fell in love with: Topher, almost immediately.
The character I never expected to love as much as I do now: Adelle. She's quite possibly my favorite Whedonverse character ever. Top 5 for sure.
The character everyone else loves that I don't: Did people love Paul? I love Tahmoh, but Paul was driving me nuts by the end.
The character I love that everyone else hates: Um...Mellie, maybe?
The character I used to love but don't any longer: Boyd. Curse you and your sudden, but inevitable betrayal, Joss.
The character I would shag anytime: Mr. Dominic.
The character I'd want to be like: Ivy? She kept her head down and still managed to be smart and kind of awesome. I really liked that lady.
The character I'd slap: Probably all of them at one point or another.
My five favorite characters: Adelle, Topher, Dominic, Sierra, and Victor
My five least favorite characters: Caroline (Echo >>> Caroline), Paul, Clive Ambrose...that guy that put Priya in the Dollhouse...my memory's a little fuzzy.
My deep dark fandom secret: At the end of the day Dollhouse was my second favorite Whedon show after Buffy.

Date: 7/31/11 11:20 pm (UTC)The character I never expected to love as much as I do now: Britta. I had her pegged as the run of the mill love interest character that Hollywood never puts any thought into, but she turned out to be this amazing, messy, wonderful person.
The character everyone else loves that I don't: Chang
The character I love that everyone else hates: Jeff, maybe? I don't think fandom hates him, but I feel like they're more concerned with his love life than they are with him, you know?
The character I used to love but don't any longer: Pierce is starting to lose some of his luster.
The character I would shag anytime: Jeff.
The character I'd want to be like: Troy! He's got this whole life thing figured out.
The character I'd slap: Chang.
My five favorite characters: Jeff, Annie, Troy, Britta, and Abed
My five least favorite characters: Chang, Dean Pelton, Rich, Buddy...I think that's it.
My deep dark fandom secret: I really, really liked s2. Minus the trampoline episode.

The character everyone else loves that I don't: William Bell?
The character I love that everyone else hates: Alt!Liv...although, I think they've mostly come around by now.
The character I used to love but don't any longer: I'm not too happy with Peter after s3.
The character I would shag anytime: Charlie and/or Lincoln.
The character I'd want to be like: Astrid. She's quietly competent. I like that.
The character I'd slap: Occasionally, Walter, but I'd never have the heart to do it.
My five favorite characters: Walter, the Olivias, the Charlies, the Lincolns, and our Astrid
My five least favorite characters: Walternate, William Bell, Nina, that Harris guy from season one...
My deep dark fandom secret: I wish we could just stay in the altverse forever.

Date: 7/31/11 11:37 pm (UTC)The character I never expected to love as much as I do now: Sherlock? I never imagined I'd be a Sherlock Holmes fangirl but between the show and the movies, I've become tempted to check out the original source material.
The character everyone else loves that I don't: I like Lestrade, but he doesn't make me squee the way John and Sherlock do.
The character I love that everyone else hates: Molly! I know fandom thinks she's too moony or weak or whatever, but I love her and I'm hoping she comes into her own next season.
The character I used to love but don't any longer: N/A.
The character I would shag anytime: John.
The character I'd want to be like: Er...Sarah, maybe? She's nice and normal.
The character I'd slap: Moriarty. He tried to blow up our boys. Grr.
My five favorite characters: John, Sherlock, Molly, Mrs. Hudson, and Mycroft
My five least favorite characters: Err...I don't think I have any least favorites. Not even Moriarty, cause you've got to have a good villain, right?
My deep dark fandom secret: I have no deep dark secrets for this fandom. I'll be bummed if John moves out the apartment anytime soon? That secret's not very deep or dark though. ;)

Date: 8/1/11 02:31 am (UTC)The character I never expected to love as much as I do now: Juliet. I was rather lukewarm about her in the beginning, probably because the pilot promised me secretly sleeping together partners and then cruelly ripped them away.
The character everyone else loves that I don't: I love everyone. ;)
The character I love that everyone else hates: I liked Abigail quite a lot, but I don't think fandom ever got behind her.
The character I used to love but don't any longer: N/A.
The character I would shag anytime: Shawn. Gus. Shawn and Gus.
The character I'd want to be like: Gus! Although, I think I already am a little---I'm persnickety and nerdy, but maybe not in the exact same way he is.
The character I'd slap: Aww, none of them.
My five favorite characters: Shawn, Gus, Juliet, Lassie and Henry. Also, I'd like to take a moment to declare my undying love for Emily Bloom (http://www.imdb.com/character/ch0251270/).
My five least favorite characters: Yin and Yang. I'm not crazy about Buzz.
My deep dark fandom secret: I've never really shipped Shawn/Juliet.

Date: 8/1/11 02:55 pm (UTC)The character I never expected to love as much as I do now: Sybil. I barely noticed her in the beginning, but then she wore fancy pants and I fell in love.
The character everyone else loves that I don't: Daisy? I don't know how the rest of fandom feels about her, but she irritates me more often than not.
The character I love that everyone else hates: N/A
The character I used to love but don't any longer: I started out quite liking Thomas and then I realized he wasn't going to be a lovable ass, just an ass.
The character I would shag anytime: Matthew. He has such pretty eyes.
The character I'd want to be like: Sybil! All forward thinking and poised to join the women's movement. <3
The character I'd slap: Thomas, that pushy guy who died in Mary's room, O'Brian...
My five favorite characters: Bates, Anna, Sybil, Gwen, and the older Mrs. Crawley (Robert's Mom). Also, Mr. Carson and Mrs. Hughes, who I ship like crazy. And Branson.
My five least favorite characters: O'Brian, Daisy, Thomas...I think that's about it, actually.
My deep dark fandom secret: Oops, I forgot one. Umm...I briefly thought Sybil/Matthew could be awesome if they pulled some sort of last minute Little Women type partner swapping.
