Fic Stats and Randomness
10/9/09 02:55 pmHey guys, I just wanted to let you know I posted my fic master list today. You can find it here if you’re interested. I debated on digging through my old fanfiction.net account and adding links to my Gilmore Girls fics from yester-year, but then I decided that some things are probably best left where they are.
Some fic stats that are probably only interesting to me:
* I’ve written roughly 42 fics (including drabbles) in six fandoms since June. Umm…I clearly need to find a job soon.
*Fourteen either featured the illustrious Mr. Straume or Sawyer/Juliet.
*So far I’ve written Sayid with seven different Lost ladies.
* I’ve actually written Jack way more than I thought had; he’s featured prominently in at least five fics.
*Only one Being Human fic so far. I need to fix that.
In completely unrelated news: Pumpkin cake is maybe the greatest cake ever (discounting Red Velvet because nothing is better than Red Velvet) and this is coming from someone who is not a fan of pumpkin pie.
Oh and if you haven’t heard
demonqueen666 is holding a sweet drabblethon at her journal. Tonight is the last night to leave a prompt and Lost is woefully underrepresented so far, so head over there and get your prompt in by midnight.
And don’t forget Dollhouse airs tonight on Fox at 9:00 p.m. EST, Topher Brink will cry if you don’t watch.
I hope everyone has an awesome weekend!

Date: 10/11/09 03:16 pm (UTC)That's nuts; clearly you've been hard at work! ;P And I thought I was doing well with my twice-monthly fics, lol.
It's cool too that you've seen those patterns start to emerge. And six fandoms! I've said it before but I'll say it again -- that's range.
Thanks for the heads up about the drabblethon, by the way! I made it just under the wire and submitted a Charlotte/Dan prompt (of course) that someone already claimed! I desperately want to write something, but I'm having trouble picking -- most of the fandoms I'm not familiar with, and the ones I am it's been so long I wouldn't even be able to summarize what's happened. I'm eyeing the other Lost prompts, but they've got two characters I'm absolute crap at writing -- Sawyer and Ben.
What about you? I saw you prompt got picked up -- yay!

Date: 10/11/09 11:11 pm (UTC)I'm so excited that someone claimed my prompt! I thought about submitting a Lost prompt, but I have a serious yen for Topher/Adelle and nobody ever writes them together (friendship or otherwise). I claimed a prompt today; I was tempted to try the Jack/Sawyer prompt, but that pairing really doesn't do anything for me. I've written them once (for the luau) but it's really not my thing.
I went for a fandom that I haven't written in before, I'm hoping I can pull it off. Maybe you could try one of the Buffy or Angel prompts? I'm sure you don't have anything to worry about, whoever you write for is going to be a lucky fangirl. :)

Date: 10/13/09 03:38 pm (UTC)Yeah, me too, and I feel badly, because that writer's been around for ages, it seems like, and the other (who requested Ben) has very particular requests that don't ever get filled, at least from what I've seen. So I would have loved to be able to give them a drabble or something, but I just couldn't do it. Makes me wonder who grabbed my prompt, though! :D
Oh, and I think I figured a way around my fear of writing Angel, considering I totally dropped the show in later seasons -- making it S1-centric, and more of a friend-shippy thing. I just can't do the Jasmine and Higher Power and everything else, blergh. Though I did like 'You're Welcome', truth be told.

Date: 10/13/09 06:28 pm (UTC)Heh. I wanted to grab your prompt, but someone beat me to it. ;)
That sounds lovely! Things were so much simpler in season one. I loathe season four. That Jasmine/Higher Power crap was horrible. I wish I could scrub the image of Connor/Cordy out of my brain.
I was grateful for "You're Welcome", it was nice to have the real Cordy back even if it was only for one episode.
