Just the Facts
Name: Meaghan
Age: 26
Location: Toronto, Canada
Other Places To Find You: Tumblr, GoodReads, Twitter

Stuff You Like
Current Fandoms: Game of Thrones/ASOIAF, Parks and Recreation, Doctor Who, Fringe, The Vampire Diaries, The Borgias, Glee, True Blood, Merlin, Harry Potter, Community, Happy Endings.
Past Fandoms: Jossverse, Fullerverse, The X-Files, Rome, Arrested Development, Battlestar Galactica.
Which New Fall Shows Are You Most Excited About? Up All Night and Once Upon a Time (which will hopefully fill the 10th Kingdom-shaped hole in my heart).
Most Obscure Show/Celebrity/Book/Movie/Musician You Love: I feel like internet fandom makes very few things truly obscure. I'm kind of obsessed with short-lived, weird-ass animated shows like Clone High and The Oblongs.

Randomness
Last Book You Read: A Feast for Crows by George R.R. Martin. Currently reading Heartless by Gail Carriger.
Fictional Characters You Over Relate To: Liz Lemon (30 Rock), Jaye Tyler (Wonderfalls), Cristina Yang (Grey's Anatomy), George Lass (Dead Like Me), Elizabeth Bennett (Pride and Prejudice), Emma Woodhouse (Emma), Ben Wyatt (Parks and Recreation), Annie Edison (Community).
Tell Us About One Non-Fannish Thing You’re Into: I'm into gaming, including board games, video games, and a wee bit of Dungeons & Dragons. I just got back from GenCon in Indianapolis and it was GEEK HEAVEN.
You Are Passionate About… Pop culture, food, fashion, feminism, history, museums, art, cephalopods, sarcasm, Matthew Goode's face, my husband (I probably should have listed him first).

Important Stuff:
Tell Us About Your Journal: I vacillate between exuberant capslock flail and TL;DR meta analysis. I think it's completely possible to critically analyze something while still enjoying it (in fact, much of my enjoyment from the entertainment I consume comes from analysis). I don't have an issue at all with the consumption of problematic media (god knows I enjoy plenty of it myself), I just think it's important to watch with a critical eye as well as a fannish one. Let there be both squee and meta! Regardless if I'm capslocking or meta-ing it up, my entries do tend to be on the long side. I have a habit of collecting various talking points for my entries so they usually contain a bunch of bullet-pointed paragraphs. Most of what I write is fandom or pop culture-related, but I do include some real life stuff if I think it's interesting to share. I'm pan-fannish and I always like to pick up new things, and while I love to ship I consider myself a laid back multi-shipper (ORGIES ARE ALWAYS THE SOLUTION) and this graphic sums up my personal shipping policies. You'll get no shipping wank from me. I usually post about once or twice a week.
Fannish Pet Peeves: I don't expect everyone to look at media with a superb critical eye, but if you're going to hate on a relationship or a character for flimsy reasons like "I don't like their face" or "they are in the way of my OTP" or "they are female" then you are basic and I will have very little time for you. I'm not easily offended when it comes to fandom opinions unless they are based in complete ignorance and thoughtlessness. Things like slut shaming, misogyny, and mindless perpetuation of various 'isms grind my gears. I would prefer to have journals on my friends list that post actual content (so no fic, graphics, or memes-only journals... though I do love me some memes) and I appreciate people who comment semi-regularly. No drama-llamas who ride the waaaaah-mbulance. Also for the love of god use LJ-cuts. They are your friend.
