I have fics to rec! Five for Lost and one each for Being Human and Dollhouse. I’m going to try to make this a regular thing alamollivanders and zelda_zee because I feel like I should share the love, you know? We’ll see if I can keep it up.

 

Lost

Act of Contrition byaboutbunnies (Kate/Sawyer)

Why You should read it: I don’t usually read Sawyer/Kate fics. While I’ll happily read Juliet with just about anybody, at some point I apparently decided Sawyer was either going to be with Juliet or die alone. Ahem. Anyway, the point is I read this and whether you ship them or not it’s a really gorgeous ficlet.

It’s set during “The Brig” (which is one of my favorite episodes) and it’s dark and rough and gets right to the heart of what makes Sawyer/Kate such an intriguing pairing. Plus the language in this is breathtaking, the author has a way with imagery that I seriously envy.

The Love It Takes to Become a Man byisis2015 (Sawyer/Juliet)

Why you should read it: My favorite thing about Season five was the way the writers developed Sawyer into a well-rounded human being, a man if you will. Prior to season five he was too screwed up to be any good to anyone, but he changed and it was magnificent.

This fic shows that evolution and how his relationship with Juliet made him want to be better. It’s a beautiful and concise story that really sums up everything I love about my OTP.

Playing on the One String bylenina20 (Sawyer/Juliet)

Why you should read it: This is a short little reset fic that brought tears to my eyes. Sawyer goes back for Juliet and she of course doesn’t remember him. The author re-imagines early season three to put Sawyer in Jack’s position. The writing is perfect and I swear this broke my heart a little.

Forever Doesn’t Last Long bytoestastegood (Christian/Margo)

Why you should read it: I don’t think Christian and Margo get much play in fic, and that never really bothered me until I read this.toestastegood shows us a young Christian just beginning his relationship with Margo. She fleshes the character out in a way that makes him both sympathetic and intriguing(he has daddy issues!). And there is a scene on a train that absolutely blew my mind.

The Forsaken byelliotsmelliot (Charles/Eloise)

Why you should read it: This is actually a six part series. You should read it because it’s brilliant. It’s as simple as that. Only elliotsmelliot could get me invested in an epic examination of the twisted love story that is Charles and Eloise’s relationship. It’s a sad, beautiful story that spans decades effortlessly.

Being Human

The Adventure Starts Here by angelgazing  (Mitchell/Annie/George)

Why you should read this: If you, like me just want to ship everyone on Being Human this is the fic for you. It’s told from Annie’s perspective and it’s a wonderful look at how she views her boys. It’s a sweet, beautifully written OT3 fic that I kind of just want to read a thousand times. The author takes that happy place feeling of the show and multiplies by a thousand.
