This is wonderful! I really enjoyed reading it. You capture both characters so well - descriptions and characterizations are crystal-clear. I love the quiet sadness that pervades this piece - the sense that they both long for connection but won't allow themselves to bridge the space that separates them.

We actually picked up on some of the same things in writing these two characters together. If you're interested, I wrote a fic called You Were as Flowers and your fic reminds me of a scene in it. Great minds think alike!
