"That's the stupidest idea I've ever heard!" Sawyer yelled, hands clenched at his sides. "Let's take old dynamite, stuff it in backpacks that are falling apart, and carry it around to blow up some hatch!"
"You have a better idea?" Jack yelled back. A crowd had gathered around them, every survivor finding a spot on the sand to watch. "We're not all going to just stand around and wait for the Others to kill us!"
"Yeah, cause blowing ourselves up is a much better way to go, Doc!"
"Why are you being such an asshole?" Jack finally snapped, throwing his arms in the air in complete frustration. Kate began to move between them.
"Because I don't want you to die, jackass!" Sawyer yelled, the desperation flooding through his voice. Before anyone in the crowd could process what was happening, Sawyer's rough hands were on Jack's face, and he was pulling Jack in. Their lips met, hard, enough to send Jack reeling backwards.
The other Survivors were completely silent, all eyes on the two men. For a moment, Jack stood frozen, chest heaving. Then he took two steps forward, until he was directly in front of Sawyer.
"Why didn't you just say so in the first place?" Jack said with a grin, grabbing the back of Sawyer's head and pulling him in for another kiss.
"About time," Charlie said, shaking his head with a laugh as he headed off towards his tent. The other survivors followed his example, leaving the two men wrapped around each other on the now-empty beach.
