Beans Are Evil

* I suck at commenting this week unless it involves comment fic. Maybe Lost will jolt me out of my malaise? I hope so, cause crappy mood is crappy. Also were we all aware that there’s no new Lost next week? I do not approve of this development.

* So remember how I was wringing my hands over the new Doctor a few months ago? I believe I said Smith was too young to play the role and it was going to suck and I wanted Ten back…I’m an idiot. Just putting that out there.

Eleven is brilliant, like mind-blowingly-I-would-follow-this-guy-off-a-cliff brilliant. I watched the first episode twice in a twenty-four hour period and I promise you I will be watching it again before Saturday. And Amy Pond! I already love this woman. I love her because she lives in a small town and spends all of her time looking at the stars, because she doesn’t want to settle, because she’s a little screwed up and her life isn’t going the way she wants it too and because she has red hair.

Also there were lens flares and cracks in the wall and bowties. *hearts*

Is it Saturday yet?

* I went to see Date Night last weekend and it was right up my alley humor wise. It also made me realize something sad but true about myself: I like my relationships like I like my couches…comfy and worn in. This is true in my fiction and my real life. I don’t like those OMG we can’t keep our hands off each other, I love you/I hate you things. They exhaust me and bore me. I just want to see two people who love each other hang out and make fun of the super kissy couple at the next table. Is that too much to ask universe? You know for me and for the fictional people I love?

All this is to say: Steve Carell/Tina Fey= OTP. I now want Liz/Michael fic. That should be a thing.

* Kate Nash has a new CD out today! Oh how I adore that woman and her delightfully boppy, British pop music.

*Hey I wrote stuff! I’m going to put this here so I can locate everything later.

Booo, sorry you're not feeling so great! Those bleeeeergh feelings can be up and down, I find, and hopefully they're fleeting this time -- I find candy and cheesy movies/TV and snuggling up in my bed usually does the trick. ;P I was feeling pretty down the other weekend and when I went over to a girlfriend's house and walked in the door, she immediately handed me Diet Coke, chocolate ice cream and a bad romantic comedy, lol.

Ooooh, Date Night! Glad you give it the seal of approval -- I seriously can't wait to see it. *draws hearts around Steve Carell and Tina Fey* And I'm exactly the same way -- some people love the rush of dating, but I'm all about when a relationship gets to the comfy stage. I'd rather feel at home with someone than that constant need to impress, etc.

Wow, epic amounts of fic! :D I can't wait to read it all -- I'm so disappointed I wasn't able to take part in Five Acts; I read the prompts and they were so great, but I'm usually only checking my LJ at work these days and that's ... not so compatible with my office Internet connection. ;D Plus I tried to start one or two and they just weren't working; everything was feeling a little stale, y'know? But it's awesome to see so many people taking part!

Aww, your friend sounds awesome! I do love a good bad romantic comedy.

I'm feeling better, I'm just getting so tired of standing still in my life and it gets to me sometimes...and then I get grouchy.

I thought Date Night was adorable. I mean it's pretty mainstream, but it's so nice to see a comedy about married folks for a change and Carel and Fey play off of each other so well. <3

I'm sad you couldn't take part, but I know things are crazy busy for you right now. It's been a fun meme though, I couldn't seem to stop once I started. :)
