Yes, the writing is really where the problem is at. As you said it features good directing(I'm always thrilled to see one done by Michael Rymer) and the cast is pretty great overall. But it's so all over the place. It's a large cast and they really don't seem to have a clue what to do with them all. For example, while unlike many, I don't hate Aaron(though Tracy does bug me)I think they should have tied in the Jerico plot to main plot much sooner. As I said, haven't seen tonight's yet so they may have moved that plot along. But there are so many other examples. Dialogue and plotting are the show's weakest points.

I suppose I shouldn't be shocked considering Brannon Braga's involvement, as I tend to hate what he does to shows. I was surprised initially that I even liked the show. He's one of the only showrunner's I've ever actively disliked.

But, yeah, I will keep watching, mainly for Dem, Simon and Lloyd. And also because James Callis will be guest starring later in the season and I love him.
