I was going with the idea that by detonating the bomb Juliet somehow changed time and she would no longer have to come to the island. The others by virtue of being touched by Jacob would have to come no matter what (I'm assuming). Heh, time travel makes my brain hurt, I hope whatever the show comes up with is less headache inducing than that.
